2016 Scania G450 12.7L Diesel · WK66 CAB

The vehicle is currently roadworthy based on its last recorded test, though the MOT history is significantly outdated. The most recent pass on 23 February 2023 at 652,382 miles showed no defects or advisories. This indicates a stable mechanical condition at that time, but the absence of any test data for over three years suggests the vehicle may have been off the road or neglected since early 2023. The mileage is exceptionally high for a ten year old vehicle, averaging over 65,000 miles per year. The record shows a rapid accumulation of 76,213 miles between the 10 February 2022 test and the February 2023 test. Such heavy usage typically accelerates the wear of drivetrain components, suspension bushes, and brake systems. The fact that the mileage remained static at 652,382 miles from the February 2023 test through to July 2026 is a red flag, implying the truck has been stationary for a prolonged period. A physical inspection must prioritise components that degrade during long periods of inactivity. The buyer should check for seized brake calipers, flat-spotted tyres, and perished rubber seals. Given the high lifetime mileage, the structural integrity of the chassis should be examined for corrosion, and the suspension for signs of fatigue or leaking dampers. The engine and exhaust system require a thorough check to ensure no degradation has occurred during the three year gap in testing. The buyer should verify the current state of the oil and coolant, as long-term standing can lead to internal moisture buildup. While the DVSA record is clean, the combination of extreme mileage and recent dormancy outweighs the lack of previous defects.
