2003 Toyota Yaris 1.0L Petrol · WP03 AON

The 2003 Toyota Yaris secured a pass on 8 January 2025 at 197,522 miles, yet with today dated 16 July 2026 that certificate has lain expired for over six months and the car holds no current legal roadworthiness approval. The recorded maintenance trend stays stable because every submitted test returned no mechanical defects or advisories. The DVSA log shows a failure on 7 January 2025 at 197,510 miles with no faults listed, then a pass one day later, repeating a November 2023 sequence where a 15 November failure at 191,691 miles preceded an 18 November pass at 191,692 miles with clean sheets. Such fail-pass pairs devoid of recorded defects point to administrative or presentation issues rather than creeping mechanical decay. Mileage sits near typical for a 23-year-old hatchback, averaging about 8,600 miles per year. The timeline runs from 185,400 miles at the 4 November 2022 pass to 191,692 miles by the 18 November 2023 pass, then to 197,522 miles at January 2025. This equates to roughly 6,000 miles annually, indicating light recent use with no abrupt accumulation. The history is sparse, offering only five entries across three years, all mechanically clean. A buyer must still arrange a hands-on inspection of high-mileage components that summary MOT data may omit. At 197,522 miles the suspension bushes, coil springs, brake discs and calipers will likely show wear despite absence of advisories. Structural integrity and corrosion demand scrutiny beneath sills and subframes on a two-decade-old chassis. The repeated failures carrying no defects warrant retrieving the original rejection notices to confirm no hidden electrical or exhaust emissions fault escaped the streamlined record.
