2003 Honda Civic 1.6L Petrol · WP03 HFH

This Honda Civic has maintained a consistent roadworthiness record over the past five consecutive MOT tests, all passing without defects or advisories. The most recent inspection on 21 August 2025, at 25,721 miles, confirms no mechanical or structural failings, suggesting the vehicle has been reliably managed through its annual testing cycle. There is no evidence of recurring issues or worsening conditions in the official record, though the absence of advisories does not preclude underlying wear that may not have been testable at the time. The recorded mileage of 25,721 miles over 23 years—roughly 1,118 miles annually—indicates extremely light usage, which could imply prolonged periods of inactivity rather than regular, low-mileage operation. The steady accumulation of just 473 miles between tests (25,221 to 25,721) over the past year suggests minimal driving, potentially allowing for deferred maintenance or corrosion risks to develop unchecked. The consistency of the mileage increments, however, rules out aggressive usage or neglect that might accelerate component failure. Given the vehicle’s age and low mileage, a buyer should prioritise a thorough inspection of suspension components, particularly the coil springs, bushes, and shock absorbers, which may exhibit fatigue despite limited use. The brakes, while not flagged in tests, should be checked for uneven wear or binding calipers, especially if the vehicle has spent extended periods stationary. Structural integrity is another critical area—corrosion at wheel arches, sills, and the subframe should be examined, as prolonged inactivity can accelerate rust development. Finally, the exhaust system and emissions controls warrant attention, as older vehicles often suffer from catalytic converter degradation or leaky joints over time.
