2017 Toyota Prius 1.8L Hybrid electric (clean) · WP17 TWW

The vehicle is currently roadworthy, evidenced by a clean pass in its most recent MOT test in April 2026 at 198,143 miles. The maintenance trend shows a shift toward stability following a period of recurring consumable failures. While the earlier records frequently flagged issues with tyres and brakes, the last three tests since October 2024 recorded no defects, suggesting that the current owner has addressed the ongoing maintenance requirements identified in previous years. The mileage profile is exceptionally high for a nine-year-old vehicle, averaging over 22,000 miles per year. Usage accelerated significantly after 2021, where the car climbed from 50,477 miles to nearly 200,000 miles in just five years. This consistent high-mileage pattern indicates long-distance motorway use or fleet-style operation, which typically places substantial strain on the hybrid drivetrain, suspension bushings, and braking system. The intervals between tests remain steady at approximately six months, showing the vehicle has remained in regular use despite the heavy workload. A buyer must focus their physical inspection on components prone to accelerated wear under high mileage. The history of tyre faults between 2022 and 2024, including uneven wear and perishing rubber, suggests a need to check wheel alignment and the condition of the suspension arm bushes. Given the thin brake pads noted in October 2023, the current state of the brake discs should be scrutinized for thinning or pitting. Because the vehicle has reached significant mileage, a thorough check of the hybrid battery health and the structural integrity of the underbody corrosion is essential to ensure the high usage has not led to hidden mechanical fatigue.
