2011 Vauxhall Combo 1.2L Diesel · WR11 SYS

A pattern of intermittent electrical and peripheral component failures defines this vehicle's MOT history, with the most recent recorded test on 12 June 2018 showing a pass following a failure for a defective nearside front windscreen wiper blade and a non-functional offside rear stop lamp. While the record shows no recent structural or major mechanical failures, the history is punctuated by recurring issues with lighting, such as the discoloured offside rear direction indicator noted in 2016 and 2017, and various minor defects regarding visibility and wiper components. The trend suggests a history of addressing specific, isolated component failures rather than systemic mechanical degradation, though the lack of testing data since mid-2018 is a significant factor in assessing current roadworthiness. The recorded mileage of 50,895 miles over a 15-year lifespan represents an unusually low annual average of approximately 3,393 miles. This usage profile suggests the vehicle has spent significant periods stationary or has been used very sparingly for short journeys. Mechanically, such low annual accumulation can lead to the degradation of rubber components and seals due to lack of regular thermal cycling, and the absence of MOT records from June 2018 to the present day means the current state of the drivetrain, braking system, and fluid integrity cannot be verified through official testing history. Prospective buyers should pay close attention to the suspension and steering components, specifically the anti-roll bar linkages. The 2014 and 2015 records flagged deterioration in the offside front upper anti-roll bar linkage ball joint dust cover. During a test drive, listen for any rhythmic knocking or clunking sounds when traversing uneven road surfaces or turning the steering wheel at low speeds, as this can indicate worn ball joints or perished rubber bushes. Given the low mileage and potential for long periods of inactivity, also inspect the condition of all rubber hoses and seals for signs of perishing or cracking. Specific attention must also be paid to the electrical and lighting systems, following the history of stop lamp, indicator, and wiper failures. Ensure all exterior lighting, including indicators and brake lights, functions correctly without flickering, which could indicate corroded connections or failing bulbs. Additionally, because the 2014 test recorded tyre tread depths below the legal limit, the current condition of the tyres should be inspected for uneven wear or sidewall cracking, which often occurs on vehicles that have been driven infrequently. Check for any steering pull or unevenness in braking, as the low usage profile can sometimes result in binding calipers or unevenly worn brake discs.
