2006 Ford Focus 1.6L Petrol · WU55 BFJ

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness status, though the record indicates a pattern of immediate rectification. The most recent test on 27 March 2024 at 177,697 miles passed with no defects recorded, following a failure just three miles prior. This specific sequence suggests that the previous owner was proactive in addressing minor non-compliance issues to secure a valid certificate. Since that March 2024 pass, the vehicle has not undergone an MOT for over two years, meaning the current mechanical state remains unverified by DVSA standards. The mileage accumulation is remarkably consistent for a twenty-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 8,885 miles per annum. Between March 2022 and March 2023, the car covered 11,321 miles, followed by another 10,901 miles in the subsequent year leading up to the latest test. This steady usage pattern indicates regular operation rather than long periods of stationary spoilage-related stress. The total distance of 177,697 miles places significant age-related wear on the drivetrain and suspension components, yet the lack of recorded advisories in the passing tests suggests these areas have been maintained to a functional standard. A prospective buyer must focus the physical inspection on the chassis and lower suspension geometry, given the vehicle's age and high mileage. While the history is clean of structural corrosion failures, the sills and wheel arches are common failure points for this generation of Ford Focus. Inspect the condition of the rubber bushes and shock absorbers for cracking, as these often degrade at this mileage bracket. Because the MOT is now over two years overdue, a comprehensive mechanical check is essential to identify any new leaks or component play that have developed since the last recorded inspection.
