2006 Citroen C3 1.4L Petrol · WU56 JVT

The Citroën C3’s most recent MOT test on 2025-08-21 confirms it remains roadworthy at 81,676 miles, with no defects or advisories recorded. The absence of failures over the past two years—despite a near-miss in the 2024-08-23 test (just one day before passing) at 81,112 miles—suggests a stable maintenance pattern. The lack of recurring issues implies either diligent servicing or components that have yet to reach critical wear thresholds. However, the 2024 failure date is unusually close to the subsequent pass, raising curiosity about whether a minor oversight was corrected between tests or if the vehicle narrowly avoided a more serious fault. The recorded mileage of 81,676 miles over 20 years—roughly 4,084 miles annually—is unusually low for a vehicle of this age, suggesting either light usage or prolonged periods of inactivity. There are no obvious gaps in the MOT history, but the consistent 12-month intervals between tests (with the exception of the 2024 repeat) indicate regular compliance with legal requirements. The steady accumulation of mileage without spikes or drops implies no aggressive driving or extended storage that might accelerate wear on suspension, drivetrain, or fluid systems. Given the clean MOT record, a buyer should prioritise a thorough inspection of high-wear items that often fail silently or degrade predictably over 20 years. Focus on the suspension—particularly the rear coil springs and bushes, which are common points of failure in this model—and check for corrosion at wheel arches, sills, and the subframe, as structural integrity degrades over time. The brakes, while not flagged in tests, should be examined for uneven wear or binding calipers, especially if the vehicle has been stood for extended periods. Finally, verify the condition of the exhaust system for leaks or excessive rust, as emissions-related faults are not always captured in MOT tests. The absence of advisories does not guarantee these areas are flawless, so visual and functional checks are essential.
