2007 Honda Civic 2.0L Petrol · WU57 ADO

The 2007 Honda Civic demonstrates stable roadworthiness based on its most recent MOT result, which passed on 2024-06-20 at 89,678 miles with no defects recorded. However, the vehicle’s history reveals recurring failures in 2023 and 2022, including a 2023-06-22 failure at 89,379 miles and a 2022-06-27 failure at 85,589 miles, both without recorded defects. These repeated failures suggest potential issues with maintenance consistency or unresolved mechanical concerns, though the absence of specific defect details limits definitive conclusions. The recent pass indicates the vehicle is currently compliant, but the pattern of prior failures warrants scrutiny. The vehicle’s mileage of 89,678 miles over 19 years equates to an average of 4,720 miles annually, significantly lower than typical usage. This suggests either infrequent use or prolonged periods of inactivity, which can accelerate wear on components like seals, batteries, and suspension systems. Notably, the 2022-07-01 MOT at 85,589 miles passed, but the subsequent 2023 tests at the same mileage indicate minimal movement, raising questions about the vehicle’s operational history. The abrupt 300-mile increase from 2023 to 2024 further implies possible storage or limited use, which may affect mechanical reliability. A buyer should prioritize inspecting the suspension system for aged bushes or coil springs, as low mileage can mask wear from inactivity. The brake system, particularly rear calipers and discs, should be checked for binding or corrosion, common issues in vehicles with irregular use. Structural integrity, including underbody rust, is critical given the vehicle’s age, though no corrosion was noted in the MOT records. The absence of detailed defect reports in prior failures underscores the need for a hands-on assessment to confirm the vehicle’s mechanical soundness beyond the MOT data.
