2012 Ford Kuga 2.0L Diesel · WV12 XMM

Recurring chassis wear and historical component degradation define the mechanical profile of this 2012 Ford Kuga, which accumulated a pass on 2026-02-28 with zero defects recorded following a series of earlier advisories. The testing record shows a trajectory moving from multiple structural and consumable warnings in previous years toward recent clean test sheets. Specifically, past inspections flagged wear across multiple suspension arm pins and trailing arm bushes, thinning brake pads and scored discs, and tyre wear patterns. This mix of historical advisories indicates that previous mechanical interventions were necessary to address recurring wear on high-stress suspension and braking assemblies. With 129,581 miles recorded over its fourteen-year lifespan, the vehicle has covered an average of roughly 9,256 miles annually, representing a typical UK usage pattern without any prolonged periods of inactivity or suspicious testing gaps. This steady accumulation rate means that major mechanical systems have experienced consistent operational cycles rather than sitting idle, which typically reduces the risk of sudden component seizure from non-use. However, this mileage total means that moving parts such as suspension joints, steering components, and heavy-duty drivetrain elements have experienced significant operational wear and will require careful scrutiny during an inspection. Prospective buyers must prioritize a physical check of the suspension components that appeared repeatedly in the MOT history, specifically the lower suspension arms and the rear trailing arm bushes. During a static inspection and test drive, listen carefully for any knocking, clunking, or creaking noises when navigating speed bumps or rough road surfaces, which would indicate play in these worn rubber bushes or ball joints. Additionally, check for any wandering or pulling in the steering alignment, as uneven tyre wear across the outer shoulders was a recurring advisory in several past tests, pointing to potential geometry misalignment or tracking issues. The braking system also warrants close practical evaluation given the historical mentions of worn brake pads, pitted brake discs, and a slightly distorted inner bead on an offside rear road wheel. On the test drive, depress the brake pedal firmly from speed to check for any shuddering, judder, or pulling to one side that would reveal warped discs or sticking calipers. Inspect the wheels visually for any vibration-inducing imperfections, and ensure that the brake pedal feel is firm and progressive rather than spongy, confirming that the braking components operate correctly across all four corners.
