2012 Toyota Verso TR D-4D 2.0L Diesel · WV62 AVG

The Toyota Verso TR-D4D presents a clean MOT history over the past three years, with the most recent test on 27 June 2025 at 185,875 miles showing no defects—an outcome repeated in every subsequent inspection since March 2022 . This consistency suggests the vehicle has been maintained to a high standard, with no recurring advisories or failures to indicate deteriorating mechanical integrity. The absence of even minor defects in recent tests is unusual for a diesel model of this age and mileage, implying either meticulous servicing or a history of low-stress use. That said, the lack of recorded advisories does not preclude hidden wear in high-load components, particularly given the elevated mileage. The mileage accumulation— 185,875 miles over 14 years —averages around 13,277 miles per annum , which is high but not extreme for a diesel family vehicle. The gaps between tests are standard (roughly 12–18 months), with no evidence of prolonged inactivity or sudden mileage spikes that might suggest neglect or aggressive driving. The most recent 18,830-mile interval (2024–2025) aligns with typical MOT frequency, though the 20,772-mile jump between 2023 and 2024 could indicate either a missed service or a period of heavier use. Without advisories, there’s no direct evidence of accelerated wear, but the mileage does warrant closer scrutiny of suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake components—areas where high mileage often reveals itself in binding calipers or uneven disc wear. For a prospective buyer, the primary focus should be on suspension and steering geometry , given the age and mileage. Check for excessive play in the steering rack, worn or split suspension bushes, and any signs of uneven tyre wear, which could point to misalignment or failing coil springs. The brakes should be inspected for binding calipers, glazed discs, or uneven pad thickness , as diesel vehicles are prone to thermal stress. While the MOT history is flawless, the exhaust system —particularly the DPF and EGR—should be assessed for blockages or leaks, especially if the car has seen frequent short journeys. Structural corrosion is less likely on a Toyota, but a thorough underside inspection for rust in the sills, subframe, and exhaust mounts is prudent. The clean MOT record is a strong indicator of care, but the mileage justifies a thorough pre-purchase inspection by a qualified mechanic.
