2007 Toyota Yaris 1.3L Petrol · X44 UDN

This Toyota Yaris presents a stable and clean MOT history, with the most recent test on 27 January 2026 at 90,230 miles showing no defects or advisories. The consistency extends back to March 2023 , with every test—including the October 2024 and February 2025 checks—passing without fail. The absence of recurring advisories or failures suggests the vehicle has been maintained to a high standard, at least in terms of compliance with basic roadworthiness requirements. However, the near-identical mileage between tests (e.g., just 299 miles between the October 2024 and February 2025 MOTs) raises questions about whether the car has been driven minimally or stored for extended periods. The mileage accumulation of 4,749 miles per year over 19 years is unusually low for a vehicle of this age, particularly given the lack of significant wear indicators in the MOT record. The 78,431-mile reading in October 2024 and 78,720-mile reading just four months later in February 2025 suggests either very light use or potential mileage underreporting. Without advisories for wear items like tyres, brakes, or suspension, it’s impossible to confirm whether components have degraded slowly due to inactivity or if they’ve been proactively replaced. The sparse MOT frequency—only five tests in three years—further complicates assessing true wear patterns, though it does indicate the car has met minimum legal standards without major interventions. Given the lack of recorded faults, a buyer should prioritise a thorough inspection of suspension components , including bushings, coil springs, and ball joints, as these are less likely to be flagged in basic MOT checks but may degrade over time with minimal use. Brake system integrity —particularly the condition of calipers, pads, and discs—should be verified, as binding or seized brakes can develop without obvious warning on a lightly driven vehicle. Structural corrosion in high-stress areas like wheel arches, sills, and subframes should be checked, as prolonged inactivity can accelerate rust formation. Finally, exhaust emissions and engine management systems may not have been stressed under low-mileage conditions, so a diagnostic scan for pending fault codes could reveal latent issues. The clean MOT history is a positive sign, but the low mileage and infrequent testing warrant extra scrutiny of components that might have been neglected.
