2018 Ford Kuga 1.5L Diesel · YA05 JAX

A consistent pattern of wear on braking components and tyres defines this vehicle's history, though it has maintained a stable record of roadworthiness. The pass achieved on 5 March 2026 indicates a current state of compliance, with only a minor advisory regarding the rear registration plate, following several years of recurring alerts for worn consumables. The overall trend suggests a vehicle that is regularly tested and remains functional, but one that frequently reaches the limit of its wearable parts. With 93,939 miles recorded over eight years, the vehicle has averaged approximately 11,742 miles annually, which is typical for this class of SUV. This steady accumulation suggests regular use rather than prolonged periods of standing, meaning the drivetrain and suspension have been subject to consistent operational loads. At this mileage, the vehicle is entering a phase where secondary wear items and suspension bushings typically require closer scrutiny to ensure continued stability. Attention should be directed toward the braking system, as records from 2023 through 2025 repeatedly flagged pitting and scoring of the rear discs alongside thinning front pads and discs. During a test drive, feel for any pedal judder or uneven braking force, which would indicate that the previously noted disc scoring persists. Verify if the front and rear braking sets have been replaced since the 2025 inspection to ensure optimal stopping performance and to avoid immediate maintenance costs. The history of recurring tyre wear across both axles and a recorded engine oil leak in 2023 necessitate a physical inspection. Check the engine bay for fresh oil misting or residue around the gaskets to determine if the leak was remediated or if it remains an active issue. Additionally, inspect the current tyre tread depths and check for uneven wear patterns, such as inner or outer edge scrubbing, which could suggest a need for wheel alignment or worn suspension bushes.
