2004 Vauxhall Corsa 1.0L Petrol · YF04 ADU

The vehicle remains roadworthy, but the maintenance trend shows a pattern of reactive repairs rather than proactive care. The most recent test in January 2026 at 78,291 miles passed despite a non-excessive oil leak and significant wear issues on the offside rear tyre. While the car consistently passes its annual inspections, the persistence of advisories regarding tyres and brakes suggests that components are only addressed once they approach the point of failure or legal limit thresholds. At 22 years old, the recorded mileage of 78,291 miles represents a low average of approximately 3,500 miles per year. This low usage is consistent across the records, showing a gap of roughly 6,800 miles between January 2025 and January 2026, and about 7,000 miles in the preceding year. While low mileage generally reduces mechanical wear on the drivetrain, the long intervals between tests can often lead to age-related degradation of rubber components and seals, which is evident in this history. A buyer must specifically inspect the front braking system and suspension components. The record flags thinning front brake pads and worn discs repeatedly from 2022 through 2024, indicating the system is likely nearing another overhaul. Furthermore, the 2024 advisory regarding corrosion on the offside front suspension arm and the deteriorated anti-roll bar linkage in 2023 necessitate a close physical check for advancing structural rust or perished rubber. The recurring reports of perishing and cracking tyres across 2025 and 2026 further support the low-usage theory, where the rubber compound is failing regardless of tread depth.
