2015 BMW 118 2.0L Diesel · YJ15 XDL

The 2015 BMW 118 presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 6 February 2026 at 64,935 miles passed with no defects recorded, continuing a clean run that began with the 4 February 2023 pass at 44,608 miles. The February 2025 history shows a failed test on 7 February at 59,487 miles with no defects listed, immediately followed by a pass at 59,489 miles the same day, indicating an administrative or documentation rejection rather than a mechanical fault. Recorded mileage sits at 64,935 against an eleven-year age, an average of roughly 5,900 miles per year. The car covered 8,033 miles between February 2023 and January 2024, then 6,848 miles to February 2025, and 5,446 miles to February 2026. This low, gradually declining annual use points to light running rather than hard wear, though standing periods common at this mileage can age tyres, brake discs, and suspension bushes without high-mileage degradation. The DVSA record itself is sparse and clean, showing no advisories or consumable wear flags across the five tests. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection of suspension components, brake calipers, and underbody structural integrity given the car's low-use profile. Standing time accelerates corrosion on subframes and exhaust hangers even when MOT tests record no defects. Verify tyre sidewall condition and brake disc face pitting, as these degrade with inactivity more than with distance covered. The absence of recurring faults or worsening advisories suggests the previous keeper kept basic statutory testing current without neglected repeat failures. The same-day fail and pass in February 2025 warrants a check of the V5C and test certificate to confirm no suppressed defect. Otherwise the mechanical history supports a sound used purchase subject to the in-person checks above.
