2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2.1L Diesel · YJ18 NHA

The vehicle currently holds a clean MOT status, with the most recent test conducted on 5 April 2023 at 254,786 miles resulting in a pass with no recorded defects. This indicates a stable maintenance trend, as the vehicle transitioned from a minor lighting advisory in 2021 to two consecutive clean passes. The absence of recurring mechanical advisories suggests that the previous owner maintained the vehicle to a consistent standard, addressing consumables before they reached the point of failure. This Sprinter has covered 254,786 miles over an eight-year period, averaging approximately 31,848 miles annually. The mileage accumulation is consistent and high, typical of a commercial vehicle used for heavy logistics or long-distance courier work. There are no significant gaps in the testing history, which confirms the vehicle has remained in active service throughout its life. The lack of test records between April 2023 and July 2026 is a concern, as the vehicle is currently operating without a valid MOT certificate, leaving a significant period of usage unaccounted for in the official DVSA data. Given the high mileage, a prospective buyer must prioritise a thorough inspection of the drivetrain and suspension components. While the MOT history is clean, components such as suspension bushes, ball joints, and shock absorbers often reach the end of their service life at this mileage and may require replacement regardless of previous test outcomes. Inspect the chassis and sills for structural corrosion, as high-mileage Sprinters are prone to rust in these areas. Verify the condition of the brake discs and pads, as the MOT test only assesses performance during the brake roller test and may not reflect the remaining thickness of these critical wear items.
