2018 MINI Cooper 1.5L Petrol · YK18 XRH

The vehicle remains technically roadworthy, but the maintenance history shows a clear trend toward neglected consumables in more recent years. While the most recent test in May 2025 at 41,371 miles passed, the tester flagged multiple advisories related to tyre condition and wheel integrity. This represents a shift from the clean records seen in 2021 and 2022, suggesting that the current ownership period involves performing reactive maintenance rather than proactive preventative care. The mileage profile is consistently low for an eight-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 5,171 miles per year. The car covered 11,746 miles between May 2023 and May 2025, followed by another 5,677 miles in the preceding year. While this low usage typically reduces mechanical wear on the drivetrain and engine components, it often leads to the degradation of rubber-based parts, which explains the recurring perishing of tyre sidewalls noted in the 2023 and 2025 tests. A buyer must conduct a thorough physical inspection of all four tyres, as the record indicates persistent cracking, perishing, and uneven wear on the offside rear tyre. The repeated mention of a distorted nearside front inner road wheel in both 2023 and 2025 suggests a past impact or chronic kerbing that may have affected the alignment or suspension geometry. Additionally, the windscreen has suffered multiple stone chips and damage over three years, which should be checked for cracks that could compromise the structural integrity of the glass over time.
