2015 Ford Ecosport 1.5L Petrol · YM65 ACF

The 2015 Ford Ecosport presents a stable roadworthiness profile based on its most recent MOT records. The latest test on 2025-05-26 at 53,657 miles recorded a pass with no defects, aligning with prior successful assessments from 2024-05-10 (48,223 miles) and 2023-05-18 (46,020 miles). No recurring mechanical or structural issues were flagged in these tests, suggesting consistent maintenance. However, the absence of recorded defects in all tests does not confirm the absence of underlying faults, as some issues may not be detected during standard MOT checks. The vehicle’s mileage of 53,657 miles over 11 years equates to approximately 4,878 miles annually, significantly below the UK average for its age. This low usage could indicate infrequent operation or prolonged periods of inactivity, which may affect components like suspension bushes, brake calipers, and exhaust systems. Notably, the 2022-05-25 test at 44,459 miles showed no defects, but the lack of data between 2022 and 2024 raises questions about potential gaps in maintenance. The 2025 test’s identical mileage and date as a failed entry suggest a possible administrative error, though the pass outcome implies no critical issues at that time. A buyer should prioritize inspecting the suspension system for worn bushes or coil springs, as low mileage can mask age-related degradation. Brake components, including discs and calipers, warrant scrutiny for corrosion or binding, particularly if the vehicle was stored. Structural integrity should also be verified, as prolonged inactivity may accelerate rust in underbody areas. While the MOT history shows no major faults, the sparse data and potential storage history necessitate a thorough pre-purchase inspection to confirm the vehicle’s condition beyond recorded tests.
