2019 Volvo XC90 2.0L Diesel · YN19 JRV

The 2019 Volvo XC90 holds a fully current MOT certificate, most recently passing on 8 June 2026 at 73,246 miles. The maintenance trend is broadly stable, though the latest test flagged a minor defect: the offside front seat belt webbing is slightly frayed or damaged. This is a straightforward repair and does not indicate neglect, but it does warrant prompt attention. The rear third-row seats were also noted as folded away, which is a presentation item rather than a mechanical concern. Overall, the vehicle has passed every MOT on record, with only minor advisories and wear items appearing over time. The mileage progression is consistent and unremarkable for a seven-year-old SUV. Between the June 2025 test at 63,387 miles and the June 2026 test at 73,246 miles, the car covered 9,859 miles in twelve months, which aligns closely with the long-term average of roughly 10,464 miles per year. Earlier records show a similar steady accumulation: 40,475 miles in June 2023, 50,395 miles in May 2024, and 63,387 miles in June 2025. There are no suspicious gaps or sudden jumps in the odometer that would suggest the vehicle has been sitting unused or tampered with. Brake wear has surfaced as a recurring theme. In June 2022, both front and rear inner brake pads were flagged as wearing thin, and the following year both front pads were again noted as wearing thin. This pattern suggests the vehicle has been driven in a manner or environment that consumes pads at a reasonable but noticeable rate, typical of a heavy SUV used in mixed urban and suburban conditions. A buyer should inspect the current pad thickness, disc condition, and caliper operation, paying particular attention to whether any binding or uneven wear is present. The June 2022 test also recorded a nail in the offside rear tyre, which should prompt a check that the repair was carried out to a proper standard and that the tyre has not developed a slow puncture since. Beyond the brakes, the seat belt webbing damage noted in the most recent test is the only structural or safety-related defect on the entire record. There are no mentions of corrosion, suspension faults, exhaust emissions failures, or steering defects across any of the five MOT entries. A buyer should still carry out a thorough in-person inspection of the underside for rust, check the condition of all suspension bushes and coil springs given the vehicle's age and weight, and verify that the seat belt replacement is completed before purchase. The MOT history itself paints a picture of a mechanically sound vehicle with no serious recurring faults and only minor, expected wear items.
