2006 Toyota Corolla 1.4L Petrol · YP55 WYM

This Toyota Corolla demonstrates an exceptional track record of roadworthiness, characterized by a complete absence of defects or advisories across its last five annual inspections. The clean pass on 13 January 2026 confirms a stable mechanical condition, reflecting a vehicle that has consistently met DVSA standards without requiring corrective work or flagging potential future failures. With a recorded mileage of 22,205 miles over a twenty-year lifespan, the vehicle has averaged approximately 1,110 miles per year. This extremely low annual accumulation indicates a usage profile dominated by long periods of inactivity or very limited local travel. Mechanically, this results in minimal wear on the engine internals and drivetrain, though it means the vehicle has not been subjected to the heat cycles and operational loads typical of a standard-use vehicle. During a physical inspection, focus on the condition of the rubber components and seals, as these can perish over time regardless of mileage. Check for any signs of oil misting around the engine gaskets or weeping from the suspension dampers, which may not have been significant enough to trigger an MOT failure but are common in low-use vehicles of this vintage. On the test drive, evaluate the smoothness of the gear transitions and the absence of any steering eccentricity or suspension knocks over uneven surfaces. Pay close attention to the brake pedal feel to ensure there is no binding in the calipers, a common occurrence when vehicles are left stationary for extended periods, and verify that the engine reaches operating temperature without fluctuation in the idle.
