2016 BMW X6 3.0L Diesel · YW16 AEO

This BMW X6 has maintained a consistent MOT history with no defects recorded across five consecutive tests, all passing without fail. The most recent inspection, conducted on 19 March 2026 at 115,589 miles, confirms the vehicle remains roadworthy under current DVSA standards. There is no evidence of recurring or unresolved issues, and the absence of advisories suggests the tester did not identify any components requiring imminent attention. However, the 2026 test occurred just four months ago, meaning the vehicle has not yet reached its next MOT due date. While this indicates a stable maintenance record, the lack of recent wear patterns in the record means critical components—such as suspension bushes, coil springs, or brake calipers—have not been specifically tested since the last pass. The mileage progression shows a steady accumulation of approximately 9,280 miles annually, which aligns with typical usage for a vehicle of this age. There are no unusual gaps or spikes in the record; the intervals between tests remain consistent at around 12 months, with no extended periods where the vehicle may have stood unused. The most recent 9,332 miles covered between the 2025 and 2026 tests fall within the expected range, suggesting no aggressive driving patterns or prolonged neglect. That said, the absence of detailed service records means wear on high-stress components—such as the drivetrain, exhaust system, or electricals—cannot be confirmed without further inspection. Given the clean MOT history, a buyer should prioritise a thorough examination of the suspension system, particularly the rear coil springs and bushes, which are common failure points in BMWs of this age and mileage. The brakes, including rear binding calipers and front-to-rear wear discrepancies, should be checked for uneven pad thickness or warped discs, as these are often overlooked until they fail. Structural integrity, especially around the wheel arches and sills, must be assessed for corrosion, as the X6’s bodywork is prone to rust in high-exposure areas. Finally, the exhaust system should be inspected for leaks or damaged catalytic converters, as these frequently develop issues between MOT cycles. While the record suggests no immediate mechanical failures, these areas are where deferred maintenance could lead to costly repairs.
