2005 Audi A4 2.0L Petrol · YY05 MDN

The vehicle presents a stable maintenance profile, though the most recent record from August 2022 shows a decline in consumable upkeep. While the car passed its last test at 86,136 miles, the tester flagged both nearside and offside front tyres as being worn close to the legal limit or worn on the edges. This follows a period of clean passes between 2017 and 2021, suggesting that while mechanical components have been generally well-maintained, basic tyre management has slipped recently. The mileage accumulation is notably low for a 2005 vehicle, averaging approximately 4,100 miles per year. The data shows a consistent, slow upward trend, moving from 39,772 miles in April 2011 to 86,136 miles in August 2022. There are no significant gaps in the testing history, which indicates the vehicle has been used regularly enough to undergo annual inspections. This low usage pattern often implies less wear on the drivetrain, but it can also lead to issues with components seizing or rubber parts perishing due to inactivity. A prospective buyer should focus inspections on the braking system and suspension components. The history shows recurring issues with brakes, including thin pads in 2012 and 2014, a binding offside rear brake in 2020, and corrosion on brake hoses in 2014. The suspension has also required attention, specifically a broken offside rear coil spring in 2017 and various suspension arm bush issues in 2012. Given the age of the vehicle and the low annual mileage, a thorough check of the brake calipers, hoses, and all rubber suspension bushes is necessary to ensure they have not degraded through age rather than wear.
