2007 Honda CBR1000RR 1.0L Petrol · M16 BCB

The 2007 Honda CBR1000RR demonstrates stable roadworthiness based on its MOT history, with no defects recorded in the most recent 2022 test at 28,578 miles. The vehicle passed all prior inspections from 2020 to 2022, including a 2020 test at 18,323 miles that inexplicably failed despite no defects being listed. This suggests either a procedural error or a minor non-compliance that was resolved before the subsequent pass. No recurring mechanical issues or structural concerns were flagged, indicating consistent maintenance or minimal wear. The mileage of 28,578 miles over 19 years equates to approximately 1,504 miles annually, a low figure that implies infrequent use or prolonged periods of inactivity. Gaps between MOT tests, such as the 11-month interval between the 2021 and 2022 inspections, raise questions about adherence to recommended servicing schedules. While the absence of defects is positive, low mileage can mask issues like seized components, degraded seals, or corrosion in stationary vehicles. The 2020 test at 18,323 miles, which failed without recorded defects, warrants scrutiny to confirm whether the issue was resolved prior to the 2022 pass. A buyer should prioritize inspecting the suspension system for hardened bushes or coil spring fatigue, as low mileage often correlates with underused components that may not have been properly maintained. Brake calipers and discs should be checked for binding or uneven wear, as static storage can lead to corrosion. Structural integrity, particularly around the frame and swingarm, should be verified for rust or stress cracks, as these are less likely to appear in MOT records. Additionally, the fuel system and battery should be assessed for age-related deterioration, given the bike’s prolonged inactivity.
