1997 Honda CB50V Dream 0.0L Petrol · P835 GPE

The Honda CB50V Dream presents a clean roadworthiness record with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent MOT, conducted on 09 March 2024 at 1,632 miles, passed with zero defects recorded. A prior test on 23 February 2023 at 1,094 miles also returned a clean pass with no advisories or failures. This consecutive pattern of defect-free tests indicates the motorcycle has been kept in sound mechanical order with no emerging or recurring faults flagged by the tester. The mileage profile is notably low for a 1997 machine. Between the February 2023 test at 1,094 miles and the March 2024 test at 1,632 miles, the bike covered just 538 miles over approximately thirteen months. Across its full twenty-nine-year lifespan, the recorded mileage of 1,632 miles equates to roughly 56 miles per year, which is exceptionally light use. Such low annual mileage typically reflects either very short journeys, seasonal riding, or extended periods of storage. The MOT record itself contains no gaps in testing continuity, with the two most recent certificates appearing at reasonable annual intervals. Despite the clean paperwork, a buyer should carry out a careful physical inspection focused on the risks associated with prolonged standing. Tyres should be checked for sidewall cracking and date codes, as rubber degrades with age regardless of tread depth. Brake calipers and discs must be examined for corrosion and seizure, since infrequent use commonly leads to sticking pistons and uneven pad deposits. The chain and sprockets should be inspected for corrosion and correct tension, and the fuel system assessed for stale fuel or tank lining deterioration. Suspension components, including fork seals, rear shock bushes, and steering head bearings, warrant close attention after long stationary periods. Coolant condition, hose integrity, and battery health should also be verified. The clean MOT history is encouraging, but age-related deterioration on a machine this lightly used can develop beneath the surface between annual tests.
