2023 Land Rover Discovery R-Dynam HSE D Mhev A 3.0L Diesel · A10 DAS

A spotless MOT record to date underscores the Discovery’s solid roadworthiness, with the latest test on 8 April 2026 confirming a clean bill of health and no recorded defects. The absence of advisories or failures across its brief MOT history suggests that the vehicle’s essential systems—brakes, lights, emissions and structural integrity—have been consistently within acceptable limits, offering a reassuring baseline for a prospective buyer. At just 10,905 miles after roughly three years of ownership, the annual accumulation sits near 3,600 miles, markedly lower than the typical 10‑12 000 miles per year for a family SUV. Such light use generally translates to reduced wear on tyre tread, brake pads, clutch and suspension components, but it can also hint at extended periods of inactivity. Prolonged standing can allow seals to dry, batteries to lose charge and tyres to develop flat‑spotting, so these areas merit particular attention despite the low mileage. When inspecting the vehicle, focus first on the suspension and steering assemblies: check for any play in the ball joints, worn bushings or loosened tie‑rod ends, and listen for clunks over bumps that might reveal hidden wear despite the low mileage. The braking system should be evaluated for pad thickness, disc condition and pedal feel; any pulsation or excessive pedal travel could indicate latent rotor wear or fluid degradation not captured by the MOT. Examine the under‑body for any signs of corrosion, especially around the wheel arches and chassis rails, as moisture can accumulate during long idle periods. Finally, verify the condition of the battery, coolant and oil levels, and inspect the tyres for uniform wear and correct pressure. A thorough test drive should reveal any steering pull, uneven braking or abnormal engine noises that could point to hidden issues. Confirm that all electronic aids—such as the terrain response system and lane‑keep assist—operate correctly, as these systems are integral to the Discovery’s modern drivetrain and safety package.
