2017 Mazda MX-5 1.5L Petrol · AB11 DOZ

The 2017 Mazda MX-5 presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 27 October 2025 at 34,187 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, continuing an unbroken sequence of clean MOT outcomes across five consecutive annual examinations. Annual mileage sits low at roughly 3,800 miles per year against the vehicle's nine years of age. The records show steady, gentle accumulation: 14,368 miles in October 2021, 18,980 by October 2022, 23,805 in October 2023, 29,404 in October 2024, and 34,187 by October 2025. No gaps or sudden jumps appear in the sequence, and the DVSA data carries no advisories, failures, or flagged consumable wear across the entire history. The absence of recorded faults denies us any trend of recurring mechanical concern. A clean sheet across suspension bushes, coil springs, brake discs, calipers, and structural corrosion suggests previous owners kept the roadster to a sound standard, though low use with long standing periods can mask perished rubber seals or underside corrosion not yet visible to the tester. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection beneath the sills, subframes, and suspension mounts for latent rust, and verify brake caliper freedom after prolonged storage. The MX-5's low mileage and unblemished test record warrant confidence, but only a hands-on check confirms the advisories-free history reflects genuine care rather than missed faults.
