2013 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque 2.2L Diesel · AE13 MWN

The 2013 Range Rover Evoque presents a stable and currently sound mechanical standing, confirmed by a clean pass at 121,091 miles on 14 July 2025. The maintenance trend remains consistently positive, with no mechanical defects recorded across the entire documented history. The two recorded failures in June 2023 and June 2024 both list no defects, indicating administrative or procedural issues at the testing station rather than structural or mechanical faults. The vehicle passed retests on the same day or shortly after, demonstrating that no remedial work was required to meet roadworthiness standards. While the overall average of 9,315 miles per year aligns with typical usage, the recent MOT entries reveal a period of significantly reduced utilization. Between the June 2023 test at 116,345 miles and the June 2024 test at 118,513 miles, the Evoque covered just 2,168 miles. This low annual accumulation continued, with only 2,562 miles added between the July 2024 pass at 118,529 miles and the most recent July 2025 test at 121,091 miles. Such low recent mileage suggests the vehicle has spent extended periods stationary, which carries its own mechanical implications despite the clean test results. A spotless MOT record eliminates concerns over recurring faults, yet the prolonged stationary periods demand a focused physical inspection. Buyers must scrutinize the tyres for flat-spotting and sidewall perishing, as low-mileage vehicles often suffer from ageing rubber rather than tread wear. The braking system requires close attention; calipers can seize and discs can surface corrode when a vehicle sits idle, even if they passed an emissions and brake efficiency test a year ago. Suspension bushes and seals may also have dried out during these dormant phases. Inspect the undercarriage for any signs of moisture ingress or corrosion that can develop in stationary vehicles, and verify the condition of the auxiliary drive belts and battery health, as these components degrade with time and inactivity regardless of mileage.
