2015 BMW 218 2.0L Diesel · AE64 JNX

The 2015 BMW 218 presents a stable and exemplary maintenance trend, culminating in a completely clean pass on 25 September 2025 at 56,716 miles. The tester recorded zero defects, advisories, or failures during this most recent assessment, mirroring the unblemished results of the preceding four years. This consistent record indicates a vehicle that has remained mechanically sound and free of the recurring structural or mechanical issues that often plague older premium vehicles. The mileage accumulation aligns perfectly with the vehicle's age, reflecting gentle, consistent usage rather than prolonged periods of standing. Between the 2021 test at 40,738 miles and the 2022 test at 45,745 miles, the car covered 5,007 miles. The subsequent annual intervals show remarkably similar increments: 3,285 miles between 2022 and 2023, 3,845 miles between 2023 and 2024, and 3,841 miles between 2024 and 2025. This steady, low-mileage pattern—averaging roughly 5,156 miles per year—suggests the vehicle has been driven regularly but sparingly, likely avoiding the excessive wear associated with high-mileage commuter use. Despite the flawless MOT history, a physical inspection remains essential for a vehicle of this age covering such low annual mileage. Short, infrequent journeys can cause moisture accumulation within the exhaust and engine oil, potentially leading to premature corrosion of the exhaust system or degradation of rubber seals and suspension bushes. A buyer should closely examine the condition of the tyre sidewalls for age-related cracking, as the rubber hardens over time regardless of tread depth. Inspecting the brake discs for surface corrosion and checking the underside for any signs of structural rust will confirm whether the car has been kept in a dry environment or subjected to harsh, salty road conditions.
