2014 Ford Fiesta 1.5L Diesel · AE64 VMO

The 2014 Ford Fiesta presents a stable roadworthiness trend, consistently passing its MOT tests without any recorded defects. The most recent examination on 19 December 2025 at 143,558 miles resulted in a clean pass, indicating the vehicle currently meets all required safety and environmental standards. However, the record contains a notable anomaly on that exact date, showing a failed test at 143,552 miles with no defects listed. This pattern repeats from the previous year, where a failure on 8 November 2024 at 137,504 miles also shows zero recorded defects before a pass on 29 November 2024 at 137,505 miles. Such data inconsistencies suggest administrative or system errors rather than actual mechanical faults, but the underlying trend remains stable. Accumulating 143,558 miles over twelve years equates to roughly 11,963 miles annually, which sits squarely within typical usage parameters for this age. The mileage progression reveals a slight deceleration in recent years. Between the November 2023 test at 129,146 miles and the November 2024 test at 137,504 miles, the car covered 8,358 miles. The subsequent year, up to the December 2025 test at 143,558 miles, saw a reduced accumulation of 6,053 miles. This tapering suggests a shift toward shorter, more localized journeys or a change in ownership, though no alarming gaps or sudden spikes in usage appear in the chronology. Despite the clean MOT record, a physical inspection remains essential given the mileage and the peculiar test history. The repeated failed tests with zero recorded defects warrant scrutiny of the testing station's practices, but mechanically, a buyer should focus on typical high-mileage wear areas for this model. Inspect the suspension components thoroughly, checking for deteriorated bushes and weak coil springs, which often escape MOT advisories until completely failed. Examine the brake setup for binding calipers and uneven disc wear, alongside assessing the exhaust system for corrosion. Underbody structural integrity demands close attention; look for rust on the sills, subframes, and mounting points, as surface corrosion can escalate rapidly on a twelve-year-old Fiesta.
