2010 Vauxhall Astra 1.6L Petrol · AJ10 TSV

The Vauxhall Astra presents as roadworthy following its most recent MOT pass on 31 July 2025 at 110,176 miles, with the maintenance trend appearing stable across the recorded history. The tester recorded no defects at that test. The prior day's failure on 30 July 2025 at the same mileage is anomalous, showing no listed defects; this suggests an administrative or procedural rejection rather than a mechanical fault, and the immediate pass confirms the vehicle cleared correctly. Annual mileage has averaged close to 6,886 miles across the car's sixteen years, a typical figure for this age of vehicle. The records show steady annual use: 88,637 miles in July 2022, 93,461 in July 2023, 100,269 in July 2024, and 110,176 by July 2025. The spread of roughly 5,000 to 10,000 miles per year indicates consistent private use with no standing periods or sudden accumulation spikes. The MOT data itself is sparse on faults, with every test from 2022 onward returning a clean sheet aside from the unexplained 2025 failure entry. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection of suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake discs given the car's age and mileage, as these components wear without always triggering MOT advisories in a clean record. The absence of corrosion or structural integrity flags in the DVSA data is reassuring, but sixteen-year-old Vauxhalls are prone to subframe rust that a test bay may miss if superficially sound. The unexplained fail-then-pass on consecutive July 2025 dates warrants a check of the VT20 and VT30 documents to confirm no hidden brake or emissions issue was rectified between tests. Otherwise, the history implies a conscientiously maintained vehicle with no recurring consumable neglect or mechanical trends requiring caution.
