2012 Audi A1 1.6L Diesel · AJ12 NMA

The Audi A1 presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 26 January 2026 at 180,736 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, and the prior clean pass on 1 December 2023 at 176,940 miles confirms the vehicle has cleared its last two examinations without advisories or failures. The mileage pattern shows anomalies that warrant scrutiny. In the 22 November 2021 test the odometer read 241,419 miles, yet by 1 December 2022 it had dropped to 162,568 miles and then to 176,940 by December 2023. This reversal indicates a likely recording error or a replacement instrument cluster rather than genuine low use. From the 2023 reading to the 2026 test the car covered only 3,796 miles across just over two years, implying reduced running in later life. Against a 14 year lifespan the current 180,736 miles sits high for the model, pointing to earlier heavy use. No recurring faults, suspension wear, brake defects, or structural corrosion appear across the supplied history. The single failure on 30 November 2023 at 176,911 miles carried no defects and was immediately superseded by a pass one day later, suggesting an administrative or presentation issue rather than a mechanical concern. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection of coil springs, suspension bushes, brake discs and underbody corrosion given the age and earlier high mileage. The clean MOT record offers no evidence of neglected consumables, but the unexplained mileage discrepancy means verifying actual drivetrain condition and service history is prudent before purchase.
