2013 Ford Mondeo 2.0L Diesel · AJ13 FFZ

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness status based on the available history, despite a significant lapse in testing. The last inspection in March 2022 at 28,093 miles passed with no defects recorded, indicating that the mechanical and structural components were within tolerance at that time. However, because no MOT has been recorded for the past four years, the current condition of the vehicle is unverified and requires a fresh inspection to ensure that no significant degradation has occurred during this extended period of inactivity. The mileage profile is exceptionally low for a 13-year-old Ford, averaging approximately 2,161 miles per year. Between July 2020 at 27,868 miles and March 2022 at 28,093 miles, the car covered only 225 miles. This low usage suggests minimal mechanical wear on the engine and drivetrain, but it also increases risks associated with age- rubber-based components and brake corrosion. The lack of mileage accumulation implies the vehicle may have sat for long periods or was used only for very short intervals. A buyer should prioritize an inspection of the suspension and braking system upon purchase. The July 2020 test at 27,868 miles flagged corroded rear coil springs on both sides, a common issue on this model that can lead to structural failure. Given the four-year gap in testing, check the brake discs for pitting and calipers for seized pistons due to lack of use. Additionally, inspect the sidewalls of the tyres for dry rot decracking, as these materials degrade over time regardless of the few miles driven.
