2007 Honda CBR 125 RS-6 0.1L Petrol · AP57 XFS

A history of clean roadworthiness defines this Honda CBR 125, as evidenced by the absence of any recorded defects or advisories during its last MOT inspection on 10 December 2021. This lack of reported issues suggests a stable mechanical condition at the time of testing, indicating that critical components such as the braking system, lighting, and structural integrity were within acceptable parameters. However, the gap in official testing records since late 2021 means the current mechanical state cannot be verified through recent DVSA data. The recorded mileage of 13,163 miles represents an unusually low usage pattern for a 19-year-old motorcycle, averaging approximately 693 miles per year. While this suggests minimal mechanical wear on the engine, transmission, and suspension linkages, such low annual accumulation often indicates the vehicle has spent significant periods stationary. From a mechanical perspective, low mileage does not automatically equate to better condition, as long-term standing can cause different types of degradation than high-frequency use. Given the low usage and the time elapsed since the last recorded test, a prospective buyer should focus on components susceptible to age-related deterioration rather than wear-related fatigue. Inspect the tyres for signs of sidewall cracking or perishing, even if the tread depth appears substantial. Check the drive chain for excessive stiffness or corrosion and ensure the sprockets are not prematurely worn from sitting in one position. On a test ride, listen for any irregular idling or hesitation that might suggest fuel system issues or stale fuel residue. Further attention should be paid to the seals and fluid integrity. Check the fork seals for any signs of oil weeping and ensure the brake calipers do not bind, which can occur if the pistons have been stationary for extended periods. Test the clutch engagement to ensure it is smooth and does not slip, and verify that the suspension provides consistent damping without any unusual knocks or binding when navigating uneven surfaces.
