2003 Honda XL125V 0.1L Petrol · BK03 EBV

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile with an improving maintenance trend over the last three years. The most recent inspection conducted in June 2022 at 4,488 miles resulted in a clean pass with no defects or advisories recorded, indicating that the mechanical and electrical systems were in good order at that time. This follows two consecutive clean passes, suggesting that any previously identified issues have been addressed and resolved. The mileage pattern is exceptionally low for a 23-year-old motorcycle, averaging approximately 195 miles per year. There is a significant gap in usage between February 2019 at 2,829 miles and May 2020 at 3,810 miles, where the bike covered fewer than a thousand miles. This suggests the vehicle sits stationary for long periods. While low mileage generally reduces mechanical wear on the engine and drivetrain, it often leads to age-related rubber degradation, fluid breakdown, and internal corrosion that the MOT test may not fully capture. A buyer should focus inspection on the effects of low-mileage storage. Although the 2019 test flagged a worn and pitted rear brake disc, the subsequent clean passes suggest this was replaced. However, the tester flagged a headlamp aim issue and a failed rear position lamp in 2020, which indicates minor lapses in basic electrical maintenance. Given the age and low use, a thorough check of perished tyre sidewalls, degraded fuel hoses, and seized brake calipers is essential to ensure the bike is safe for road use despite its clean recent history.
