2012 Volkswagen Crafter 2.5L Diesel · BN12 CPF

The vehicle is currently in a stable roadworthy condition based on its most recent MOT pass on 14 August 2025 at 167,628 miles. The record shows a consistent pattern of clean passes with no defects or advisories noted in the final three tests. This suggests the vehicle is being maintained to a standard that meets minimum legal requirements without recurring mechanical failures. The mileage is typical for a 14 year old commercial vehicle, averaging roughly 11,973 miles per year. The distance covered between the May 2023 test at 152,055 miles and the August 2025 test at 167,628 miles shows a steady usage pattern. There are no erratic jumps in mileage or long periods of inactivity that would suggest neglect or hidden deterioration. The MOT history is unusually clean for a vehicle of this age and mileage. The failures on 30 May 2023 and 20 August 2024 were resolved on the same day, and the lack of any recorded advisories over the last three years is rare for a 2012 Crafter. This absence of data on wear-and-tear items suggests either an exceptional maintenance regime or a tester who has been lenient regarding minor consumables. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on areas the MOT often overlooks or that typically fail on this model. Check for structural corrosion on the chassis and sills, as these are common weak points. Inspect the suspension bushes and coil springs for fatigue, and check the brake discs for pitting or lip formation. Given the high mileage, a manual check of the drivetrain and clutch operation is advisable to ensure the mechanical health matches the clean paperwork.
