2007 Audi A3 3.2L Petrol · BN57 WOA

The 2023-08-12 MOT at 182,663 miles passed with no defects recorded, confirming that the vehicle met the required standards at that time and that the maintenance trend appears stable. Earlier entries on the same date show a failure but also list no defects, indicating a possible retest rather than a substantive fault. The mileage trajectory shows a steady increase: 160,614 miles in September 2021, 168,921 miles in September 2022, and 182,663 miles by August 2023, representing an average annual rise of roughly 9,600 miles, which aligns with typical usage for a 19‑year‑old car, though the jump of 13,742 miles between September 2022 and August 2023 suggests a period of more intensive use. A buyer should therefore focus on the suspension system, checking for worn bushes, sagging coil springs and any play in the steering linkage; inspect the brake assembly for worn discs, binding calipers and pad thickness; examine the chassis and wheel arches for structural rust or corrosion; and verify the condition of the exhaust system and emissions components, as these items are prone to deterioration despite the clean test record. Because the MOT history shows no recorded defects, the absence of visible wear on the paperwork does not guarantee the absence of underlying issues, so a thorough physical inspection and review of service invoices remain essential before purchase.
