2015 Honda HR-V 1.6L Diesel · BS55 BKS

The 2015 Honda HR‑V last passed its MOT on 2 July 2025 at 128,885 miles. The test resulted in a pass with several advisories: offside and nearside headlamp lenses slightly defective, the front undertray not fully secure, the nearside front drive‑shaft CV boot severely deteriorated, and child‑seat installations that prevented full belt inspection. No new failures appear, and the pattern of defects shows a stable to improving trend; earlier brake‑disc and wiper issues have not re‑appeared. Mileage accumulation has slowed markedly over the life of the car. Between July 2022 and July 2025 the vehicle gained roughly 14,700 miles in three years, averaging about 4,900 miles per year, well below the typical 11,700‑mile annual rate for an 11‑year‑old model. The most recent 11‑month interval added only 3,345 miles, indicating reduced usage or periods of storage. MOTs have been taken annually with no significant gaps. A buyer should inspect the tyres for tread depth, particularly the rear tyres which have repeatedly shown wear close to the legal limit (2‑3 mm). The headlamp lenses should be examined for clouding or defects, and the front undertray checked for secure mounting. The nearside front CV boot must be inspected for deterioration; a cracked boot can lead to grease loss and premature joint wear. Verify that child‑seat fittings allow full belt inspection and that the belt mechanism operates freely. Although brake‑disc lipping was recorded in 2018, the recent MOT shows no brake‑related faults, but a visual check of disc condition and pad wear is advisable. Finally, assess the windscreen for damage and the wiper blades for effective clearing.
