2004 Fiat Panda 1.2L Petrol · BW04 NWU

The 2004 Fiat Panda presents a stable and improving mechanical trend, culminating in a clean pass on 23 October 2025 at 94,388 miles with zero defects recorded. The maintenance trajectory demonstrates consistent care, with the vehicle passing its last three consecutive tests without any advisories. A single failed test appears on 12 October 2023 at 82,987 miles, though the record curiously lists no defects for this failure, suggesting an administrative anomaly or an aborted test rather than a mechanical fault. The subsequent retest on the same day passed cleanly, confirming no underlying mechanical deterioration. The mileage accumulation aligns with exceptionally light use for a vehicle of this age, averaging roughly 4,290 miles per year over its twenty-two-year lifespan. Between October 2022 and October 2023, the car covered 4,233 miles, followed by 6,704 miles over the next twelve months, and 4,696 miles in the most recent year ending October 2025. This steady, low-mileage pattern indicates the vehicle has likely served as a short-trip runabout rather than a high-mileage commuter, which typically spares the drivetrain and brakes from excessive wear but can introduce issues related to prolonged standing or irregular use. Despite the pristine MOT record, a physical inspection remains essential to verify the condition of components that deteriorate with age rather than mileage. A buyer should closely examine the suspension bushes and coil springs for perishing and corrosion, common afflictions on older Fiat Pandas that may not always trigger an MOT failure. The brake discs and calipers require scrutiny for surface rust and potential binding, as low-mileage vehicles often suffer from corrosion rather than wear. Checking the structural integrity of the underbody and sills for corrosion is equally critical, given the car's age. Finally, inspect the tyre sidewalls for cracking, as the low annual mileage means the original or older rubber may have degraded past its safe service life despite retaining legal tread depth.
