2016 Porsche Cayenne 4.1L Diesel · CA11 PPY

This Porsche Cayenne presents a highly stable roadworthiness profile, characterized by a consistent history of clean passes and a lack of major mechanical failures. The most recent test on 19 November 2025 resulted in a pass with no defects recorded, suggesting that any previously noted wear has been addressed or has not yet reached a critical threshold. While the overall trend is positive, the appearance of rear brake disc advisories in late 2024 indicates that the braking system is entering a phase of component replacement, though the subsequent clean test in late 2025 implies these issues were either rectified or the deterioration has stabilised. The vehicle's usage pattern is consistent with typical long-distance driving, averaging approximately 7,042 miles per year over its ten-year lifespan. This moderate annual accumulation is mechanically advantageous, as it avoids the potential issues associated with extreme low-mileage usage, such as seized calipers or perished rubber components from prolonged inactivity, while also avoiding the accelerated wear on the drivetrain and suspension that accompanies high-mileage heavy use. This steady mileage profile suggests the vehicle has been used regularly enough to maintain component functionality without being subjected to excessive mechanical fatigue. Prospective buyers should focus their physical inspection on the rear braking system, specifically addressing the pitting and scoring noted on both the nearside and offside rear brake discs in the December 2024 advisory. During a test drive, pay close attention to any pulsations or judder through the brake pedal when applying pressure at moderate speeds, which can indicate uneven disc wear or warped rotors. Additionally, listen for any rhythmic clicking or grinding noises coming from the rear of the vehicle during low-speed manoeuvres, which may signal that the discs or pads have progressed beyond the advisory stage into active wear. Beyond the braking system, the lack of recorded advisories for suspension bushes, steering linkages, or exhaust emissions is a positive indicator for a vehicle of this age and weight. However, given the Cayenne's performance-oriented architecture, it remains prudent to check for any subtle steering pulls or uneven tyre wear that could suggest underlying issues with the suspension geometry or alignment. Ensuring that the recent clean MOT pass reflects a comprehensive service of the braking components will be key to confirming the vehicle's continued reliability.
