2008 Ford Fusion 1.4L Petrol · CE58 ADX

The 2008 Ford Fusion demonstrates stable roadworthiness based on its most recent MOT on 2024-08-09 at 73,527 miles, which passed with no defects. The prior test on 2023-07-24 recorded a failure at the same mileage, though no specific defects were noted. Subsequent tests from 2021 to 2024 show consistent passing results, with no recurring issues flagged. This suggests the vehicle has maintained acceptable mechanical condition, though the unexplained failure in 2023 warrants scrutiny to confirm whether it was a procedural error or an overlooked fault. The vehicle’s mileage of 73,527 miles over 18 years equates to approximately 4,085 miles annually, significantly below average for its age. This low usage implies infrequent operation or extended periods of inactivity, which can accelerate wear on components like suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake discs due to lack of regular stress. The MOT intervals align with standard annual testing, but the absence of detailed defect reports limits insight into potential hidden issues. The clean record from 2021 to 2024, aside from the 2023 failure, indicates no major systemic problems. A buyer should prioritize inspecting the suspension system for hardened bushes or coil spring fatigue, as low mileage can mask wear from stagnation. Brake components, including calipers and discs, should be checked for corrosion or binding, particularly if the 2023 failure involved braking systems. Structural integrity, including underbody rust, is critical given the vehicle’s age, though no corrosion was noted in the MOT data. The absence of advisories on tyres or exhaust emissions suggests routine maintenance, but a physical inspection is essential to verify the condition of components not tested in MOTs.
