2006 Vauxhall Astra 1.6L Petrol · CT55 HKE

The Vauxhall Astra presents an unclear roadworthiness position. The most recent test on 20 June 2022 at 136,947 miles returned a FAIL with no defects recorded, which is anomalous and suggests an administrative or documentation issue rather than a clean mechanical pass. Against the earlier 9 June 2021 pass at 132,897 miles with no defects, the trend cannot be classed as stable, worsening, or improving; the single failure with zero listed faults breaks any reliable pattern. Mileage sat at 132,897 in June 2021 and rose to 136,947 by June 2022, a modest 4,050 miles in twelve months. That equates to roughly 6,847 miles per year across the vehicle's twenty-year life, typical for a 2006 car. The record shows only two entries across the visible history, leaving a sparse trail with no advisories on wear items such as tyres, brake discs, or suspension bushes. A buyer should seek the physical vehicle and confirm why the 2022 test failed with no defects logged. DVSA systems occasionally record such outcomes where a presenter withdrew the car or paperwork failed; the buyer must obtain the failure reason from the test station or VOSA. Given the age and 136,947 miles, inspect structural integrity for corrosion on sills and subframes, check coil springs and suspension bushes for fatigue, and verify brake calipers are not binding. The clean 2021 pass offers limited assurance once the unexplained 2022 failure is set against it.
