2006 Citroen Xsara 1.6L Diesel · CV06 DDX

The 2006 Citroen Xsara presents a highly stable and improving roadworthiness trend, culminating in a clean pass at its most recent MOT on 22 September 2023 at 175,744 miles. The tester recorded zero defects, continuing a three-year streak of flawless tests. This pattern indicates a vehicle that has been maintained to a standard that consistently meets UK safety requirements without requiring remedial work. Analyzing the mileage pattern reveals consistent, moderate use prior to 2023. The car traveled 15,804 miles between the September 2021 test at 159,940 miles and the September 2023 test at 175,744 miles, averaging roughly 7,902 miles per year. This sits slightly below the typical annual mileage for a vehicle of this age. However, the odometer has remained entirely static at 175,744 miles since that September 2023 test. As of today, 8 July 2026, the vehicle has recorded zero miles in nearly three years, suggesting a prolonged period of inactivity. Because the official record contains no recurring mechanical advisories, the primary concern shifts from active wear to the effects of long-term standing. A buyer must physically inspect the undercarriage and structural mounting points for corrosion, as stationary vehicles often accumulate surface rust on brake discs and exhaust components. The condition of the suspension bushes and coil springs requires scrutiny for perishing, while the tyres must be checked for sidewall cracking and flat-spotting. Rubber seals around the doors and engine are also prone to drying out and leaking when a car sits idle for extended periods.
