1986 Ford Escort 1.6L Petrol · D260 ANP

The 1986 Ford Escort presents a stable roadworthiness status with no active defects. The most recent test on 27 March 2026 at 65,911 miles returned a pass with no advisories recorded, continuing an unbroken clean test history across the available entries. The recorded mileage shows remarkably low accumulation for a 40-year-old vehicle. The 11 March 2022 test logged 65,872 miles, the 29 April 2023 test showed 65,880 miles, and the 27 March 2026 test reached 65,911 miles. That is a total of just 39 miles over four years, averaging under 10 miles per year. The three-year gap between the 2023 and 2026 tests is the only notable absence in the record, and the near-static odometer suggests the car has spent long periods in storage rather than regular use. A buyer should still inspect the vehicle in person for age-related deterioration not captured by these clean tests. Long stationary periods typically allow corrosion to develop on structural members, floor pans, and suspension mounting points even when the MOT shows no faults. The tester recorded no advisories on brake discs, suspension bushes, or exhaust emissions, but rubber components such as wishbone bushes and brake hoses degrade with time regardless of mileage. Given the 65,911 recorded miles and the absence of any flagged mechanical or structural issues across the 2022, 2023, and 2026 tests, the history implies a carefully stored example with minimal wear on drivetrain and consumables. Physical inspection should prioritise hidden rust, perished seals, and flat-spotted tyres from standing, as these are the likely risks the MOT record cannot reveal.
