2017 BMW X3 2.0L Diesel · DE03 RAG

The 2017 BMW X3 presents a clean roadworthiness status as of the most recent test on 7 January 2026 at 147,491 miles, where the tester recorded no defects and issued a pass. The maintenance trend across the available MOT history is stable, with every recorded test resulting in a pass and no advisories logged at any stage. This indicates the vehicle has not displayed recurring mechanical or structural faults within the scope of the official examinations. Mileage accumulation on this X3 runs high for a nine-year-old vehicle, averaging roughly 16,388 miles per year against the recorded 147,491 miles. The records show a sharp rise between 19 December 2022 and 8 December 2023, jumping from 50,620 to 89,701 miles, then a further climb to 120,160 by 11 December 2024 and 147,491 by January 2026. The DVSA data is sparse, with only five tests logged and no minor or major defects ever flagged, so the clean sheet offers little insight into consumable wear patterns or owner diligence beyond statutory compliance. A buyer should still commission an independent inspection of suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake discs given the sustained high annual mileage and the absence of any advisory warnings that might otherwise reveal emerging wear. The lack of recorded corrosion or exhaust emissions failures is favourable, yet testers often miss early structural rust on chassis members and subframes without strip-down. Given the unbroken pass record, previous keepers appear to have maintained the X3 to a baseline roadworthy standard. The high mileage demands scrutiny of drivetrain components and turbocharger condition that MOT tests do not assess. Verify service history against the 30,000-mile gaps seen in 2023 to 2024 before purchase.
