2005 Ford Fiesta 1.6L Petrol · EA05 SFV

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile following a period of instability two years ago. As of the most recent test conducted in October 2025 at 116,438 miles, the car passed with no defects or advisories recorded. This represents a significant improvement over the failures in October 2023, indicating that the owner addressed the necessary mechanical issues and has since maintained a clean-sheet record for the last two annual cycles. The mileage pattern is notably low for a 21-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 5,545 miles per year. The data shows consistent usage, with roughly 5,500 miles covered between each annual MOT interval. This steady rate of accumulation suggests the car has been used for short trips rather than long-distance commuting. While low mileage generally preserves the drivetrain and internal engine components, the age of the vehicle increases the likelihood of rubber-based components degrading or structural corrosion manifesting regardless of distance travelled. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on the structural integrity of the chassis and suspension mounting points, as Ford models from this era are prone to rust in specific areasills. Despite the two failures in October 2023 at 105,527 and 105,530 miles, the record does not specify the nature of those faults, necessitating a thorough under-body check for perished suspension bushes, seized brake calipers, or leaking exhaust seals. Given the low mileage, also inspect for fluid leaks and age-related tyre sidew cracking.
