2002 Renault Clio 1.1L Petrol · EA52 AGY

The vehicle is currently roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent MOT on 14 April 2025 at 64,853 miles resulted in a pass with no defects recorded. This follows a consistent pattern of clean passes over the last three years, suggesting the car has been kept in a condition that meets minimum legal standards without recurring mechanical failures. The mileage is exceptionally low for a 24 year old vehicle, averaging roughly 2,702 miles per year. Between 3 April 2023 and 14 April 2025, the odometer rose from 51,405 to 64,853 miles. This indicates a steady usage pattern of approximately 6,700 miles per annum over the last two years, rather than the car sitting dormant for long periods. While the MOT record is remarkably clean, the lack of any reported advisories over several years is unusual for a vehicle of this age. A buyer should specifically inspect the chassis and sills for corrosion, as the DVSA records do not highlight any structural rust. Low-mileage cars often suffer from perished rubber components, so checking the condition of the suspension bushes and tyre sidewalls for age-related cracking is essential. The absence of recorded brake or suspension wear in the tests suggests either recent replacement or very light usage. You should verify the service history to ensure the engine oil and coolant have been changed regularly regardless of the low mileage. Check for signs of binding calipers or leaking dampers during a physical inspection to confirm the vehicle has not suffered from prolonged inactivity between its recorded journeys.
