2002 Ford Mondeo 2.0L Petrol · EA52 WUT

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile, though the maintenance history indicates a pattern of immediate reactive repairs. The most recent test in November 2022 at 158,589 miles resulted in a pass with no recorded defects, suggesting the vehicle was in good mechanical condition at that time. However, the presence of failures in both 2021 and 2022 prior to passing suggests the previous owner only addressed faults once they triggered an MOT failure rather than following a preventative maintenance schedule. The mileage accumulation is consistent with a 24-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 6,600 miles per year. Between October 2020 at 152,892 miles and November 2022 at 158,589 miles, the car covered 5,697 miles. This low annual mileage suggests light use, which often preserves engine components and drivetrain parts but can lead to accelerated degradation of rubber components. The lack of MOT data since November 2022 means the vehicle has not been officially tested for over three half years, leaving the current state of roadworthy components unknown. A buyer must conduct a thorough physical inspection of the structural integrity and undercarriage. Given the age of this Mondeo, corrosion is a primary concern on the sills, wheel arches, and mounting points. The record does not list specific advisories, necessitating a check of suspension bushes and coil springs, which typically perish over two decades regardless of low mileage. Since the last test is significantly overdue, a check for fluid leaks, perished brake lines, and seized calipers is essential to ensure the vehicle has not developed significant faults during its period of unrecorded or infrequent use.
