2011 Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0L Diesel · EA61 YGF

The 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan remains roadworthy, with no defects recorded in its most recent April 2026 MOT at 98,516 miles. The maintenance trend is stable, as all six consecutive MOT tests from 2021 to 2026 have passed without issues. This consistency suggests the vehicle has been well-maintained, with no emerging mechanical or structural concerns over the past five years. The absence of advisories or failures indicates the previous owner prioritized regular servicing, though the lack of detailed defect records limits insight into minor wear patterns. The vehicle’s mileage of 98,516 miles aligns with its 15-year age, averaging 6,568 miles annually—a typical figure for this model. MOT intervals are regular, with tests conducted roughly 12 months apart, ensuring systematic checks. No significant gaps in testing or rapid mileage spikes are evident, which reduces risk of undetected wear. The clean MOT history implies no major repairs or recurring faults, though the absence of specific defect details means potential issues like suspension bushes or brake components may require further inspection. A buyer should verify the condition of the suspension system, particularly coil springs and bushings, as these components often degrade over time without immediate warning. The brake discs and calipers, though unmentioned in MOT records, warrant scrutiny for uneven wear or corrosion. Additionally, the exhaust system and body panels should be checked for rust, as older vehicles in the UK are prone to corrosion in damp conditions. While the MOT history is reassuring, a pre-purchase inspection is recommended to confirm the integrity of these critical systems.
