2016 Toyota Avensis Business Edition D-4D 1.6L Heavy oil · FH16 UNM

The vehicle presents a stable and highly positive maintenance trend, culminating in a completely clean pass at its most recent MOT on 6 January 2026 at 126,567 miles. Zero defects were recorded, indicating that the vehicle met all required safety and emissions standards without any advisories. This unblemished record across multiple tests suggests a consistent pattern of proactive upkeep rather than reactive repairs. The odometer readings reveal a notably high annual mileage of roughly 12,657 miles per year, which is significantly above the national average for a vehicle of this age. Between the October 2021 test at 66,534 miles and the October 2022 test at 84,369 miles, the car covered 17,835 miles in a single year, demonstrating sustained heavy use. The accumulation rate subsequently stabilised, with the vehicle travelling 14,129 miles between October 2022 and November 2023, and 13,605 miles between November 2023 and December 2024. The most recent interval shows a distinct drop in usage, with the mileage remaining static at 126,567 miles between the December 2024 and January 2026 tests, suggesting the vehicle may have been standing for an extended period. Despite the flawless MOT history, the high mileage and the recent 13-month period of static mileage warrant a thorough physical inspection. A stationary vehicle of this age can suffer from deteriorated rubber components; buyers should closely examine the condition of suspension bushes, brake hoses, and tyre sidewalls for cracking, even if tread depths remain legal. The prolonged stationary period also raises the risk of brake disc corrosion and binding calipers, requiring a test drive to check for pulling or juddering under braking. The diesel particulate filter and exhaust emissions system require assessment for efficiency, as prolonged idling or short trips prior to the stationary phase could have caused premature soot loading. Finally, inspect the underbody and structural mounts for any signs of corrosion that might not have been severe enough to warrant an advisory but could worsen rapidly without regular use.
