2012 Honda VFR800 0.8L Petrol · FN12 YKO

The 2012 Honda VFR800 presents a clean roadworthiness status with a stable maintenance trend, confirmed by the most recent test on 2 April 2026 at 2,592 miles where the tester recorded no defects. Every annual examination from 2023 through 2026 returned a pass with no advisories, showing the machine has remained mechanically sound across the four-year record. The mileage pattern reflects extremely light use for a fourteen-year-old vehicle. The record shows 1,276 miles at the 27 February 2023 test, rising to 2,020 miles by 2 March 2024, then 2,473 miles on 3 April 2025, and 2,592 miles on 2 April 2026. That equates to roughly 185 miles added per year, with no gaps or sudden accumulation. The DVSA data is sparse in faults but consistent, implying a low-mileage leisure machine that has seen careful, minimal running rather than neglect through hard use. A buyer should still inspect in person for issues the MOT does not capture. Long standing periods at low mileage risk perished suspension bushes, seized calipers, and flat-spotted tyres from age rather than wear. The absence of corrosion or exhaust advisories is reassuring, yet structural integrity around the frame and fork mounts warrants a visual check for storage-related rust. Given the clean history, focus the viewing on fluid condition, brake disc pitting after idle storage, and the date stamps on tyres and battery. The record shows no recurring mechanical faults, so the risk profile is low, but physical verification of consumables remains prudent on a bike of this age and usage.
