2001 DAF Trucks FA LF45.150 Heavy oil · FX51 AXJ

The vehicle currently holds a valid MOT pass issued on 2026-01-17 at 598,187 miles, with no defects recorded. This follows a clean pass from 2024-03-13 at 589,904 miles, also defect-free. The most recent failure occurred on 2023-08-10 at 589,102 miles, though no specific defects were documented in the record. Overall, the maintenance trend appears stable, with two consecutive passes and no recurring advisories or failures indicating deterioration. Mileage accumulation is exceptionally high for a 25-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 23,900 miles per year. The jump from 327,977 miles in September 2022 to 589,102 miles by August 2023 suggests intense usage over a short period. This rapid accumulation places significant strain on wear items such as brakes, suspension components, and the drivetrain. The gap between the September 2022 test and the August 2023 failure spans just over a year, during which the vehicle covered roughly 261,000 miles. Given the high-mileage history, a buyer should prioritise inspecting the braking system, including brake discs, pads, and calipers, for uneven wear or binding. Suspension components such as coil springs, shock absorbers, and bushes should be checked for cracking or excessive play. The exhaust system and emissions control components may show signs of corrosion or premature wear. Additionally, the clutch and gearbox should be evaluated for smooth operation, as high mileage often leads to drivetrain fatigue. Despite the clean MOT record, the vehicle's age and usage demand a thorough mechanical inspection before purchase.
